Our Impact

Our Impact

We believe in progress, not perfection. Here’s a transparent look at what we’re doing now to make Trivalaya sustainable and ethical, and where we’re aiming to go next.

Conscious Materials (The Now)

Our debut product is made with a 60% hemp / 40% organic cotton fabric blend. We chose hemp because it’s a superstar crop for sustainability: it uses a fraction of the water that cotton does and needs no pesticides or herbicides to thrive. The organic cotton in our blend is GOTS-certified, ensuring it’s grown without harmful chemicals and with respect for farmers and soil health.

Importantly, all of our fabric is knit and sewn in the USA. This means a lower carbon footprint (no trans-oceanic shipments) and higher assurance that the people crafting our blank shirts are working under fair conditions. Each tee is then printed locally using water-based, eco-friendly inks that contain no toxic chemicals – better for you, our workers, and the planet.

Local Roots: Our Vision for the Future

One of our biggest goals is to bring our supply chain even closer to home – right here to the Midwest. Imagine wearing a shirt made from hemp grown in your backyard (or not far from it). We’re not there yet, but we’re actively laying the groundwork. We’re building relationships with Midwest hemp farmers and innovative processors (like our friends at Prairie PROducers and Midwest Natural Fiber) to someday source fiber locally.

This is an ongoing journey, and we’re taking you along with us. We promise to share updates on our progress toward a true “farm-to-closet” product.

Ethical Production

Sustainability isn’t just about materials – it’s about people. We partner with a local, family-run screen printer to produce our shirts instead of outsourcing to the cheapest bidder. By working within our community, we support another small business and ensure quality craftsmanship.

We also hold ourselves to high standards when it comes to labor practices. Everyone involved in making Trivalaya products is paid fairly and treated with respect. As we grow, we plan to implement a formal Code of Conduct for all our partners (much like leading ethical brands do) to guarantee safe working conditions and fair wages across the board.

Certifications & Partnerships

We know third-party certifications can help hold us accountable. While we’re just starting out, our materials already meet robust standards – for instance, our organic cotton is GOTS-certified (Global Organic Textile Standard). In the future, we aim to earn additional badges of honor (like Fair Trade or even B Corp status) as we expand our impact.

We’re also exploring joining initiatives like 1% for the Planet, so we can give back by donating a portion of sales to environmental causes that align with our mission. As we grow, we’ll keep you updated on any new partnerships and certifications.

Impact Highlights

Our commitment is an ongoing journey. We know we’re not perfect, but we’re dedicated to continuous improvement and honest storytelling about our process. Thank you for believing in what we do – your support makes every step toward a better fashion future possible.
